Pipistrel appoints first distributor in Mexico

Slovenia, 26 March 2024 Pipistrel, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, is extending its global presence with the appointment of its first Mexico-based distributor, Wulf Aviation.

Committed to positioning itself as the top choice for aircraft sales and acquisitions in the region, Wulf Aviation will be responsible for managing sales of Pipistrel’s range of ultralight, light sport and type-certified aircraft across Mexico. Wulf Aviation has placed an initial order for a Pipistrel Explorer, a 2-seat EASA type-certified plane, intended to serve as a demonstration aircraft.

“Wulf Aviation brings extensive experience and knowledge to our growing distributor network,” says Steve Mckenna, director of sales & marketing, Pipistrel. “We’re looking forward to working alongside their passionate and customer-focused team to bring Pipistrel’s range of products to aviators across Mexico.”

“We are excited to collaborate with Pipistrel to shape the future of the aviation industry in Mexico, particularly in the training and leisure markets, with its modern and sustainable solutions,” adds Franco Curiel, managing partner at Wulf Aviation. “For several years, our team has owned a Pipistrel aircraft, so we are incredibly proud to embrace the lifestyle and represent the brand, while also introducing others to the possibilities the aircraft can provide.”

The appointment of Wulf Aviation follows Pipistrel’s expansion of its distribution network in key regions across the globe, including the appointment of four distributors in North America.

About Pipistrel

In 2020, Pipistrel’s Velis Electro became the world’s first, and currently only, electric aircraft to receive full type-certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and most recently received a light-sport aircraft airworthiness exemption from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This achievement followed a series of electric aircraft introductions since the company began research and development of electric propulsion in 2000. Pipistrel’s pioneering work has been recognized through awards from NASA, IDC, and other organizations. The company, which offers a family of gliders and light aircraft with both electric and combustion engines, has delivered more than 2,500 light aircraft worldwide since its founding in 1989 and additionally has both hybrid and electric propulsion models under development.
