On September 28, at the beginning of the new academic year, UNG presented the Golden Plaque of the University of Nova Gorica to the director of Pipistrel, Ivo Boscarol, for fruitful cooperation in research and promoting the construction of infrastructure of the University of Nova Gorica.

The keynote speaker, elementary particle physicist prof. dr. Boštjan Golob, congratulated both recipients of the award: »Today’s winners, prof. dr. Miran Veselič and Mr. Ivo Boscarol, both did an outstanding job in their parts of our common ecosystem. I am happy and proud that they joined forces in their efforts with our university. With the university that has proven successful and bold ideas in the field of green technologies. In the hope of our joint realization of those ideas, I thank and congratulate both winners from the bottom of my heart. “.

Upon receiving the award, Ivo Boscarol thanked with the following words:

“Thank you all very much for this immense honor. I have been fighting all my life to maintain values in entrepreneurship, so that our employees, our customers, our suppliers can have a long-term relationship based on values. I am pleased that the University of Nova Gorica is also building its story on values. You know, it’s easiest to forget when something good has been achieved. But after twenty years still remembering how we turned the Polytechnic into a University, how I motivated the politicians of that time, how I convinced the members of municipal councils that a university is necessary – to build such values in the long run means that we make stories based on something we can all be proud on.”

“The University of Nova Gorica is one that invests a great deal of its energy into preserving the environment and is aware that just like all of us, also each individual has to do everything possible to preserve the environment as it is, also for future generations. Thank you for building a story on values,” concluded the recipient of the gold plaque award.
