For the company Pipistrel Vertical Solutions d.o.o. we are looking for CFD engineer to join the Pipistrel team. As a CFD engineer in flight physics and simulations department you will be involved in CFD simulations in various fields of aircraft design, CAD design of the models, support in aerodynamic design, you will also collaborate with the rest of the departments. Daily tasks will include:

  • CFD simulations in various fields of aircraft design: external and internal airflows including simulations of propellers, cooling, acoustics, etc.,
  • CAD design of the models for the purposes of CFD simulations, and post-processing of the results,
  • preparation of documentation (simulation results, calculation procedures, reports, software documentation, project deliverables, etc.),
  • many different types of aircraft (electric, hydrogen and internal combustion engine powered; prototypes and serial production; fixed wing aircrafts and VTOLs),
  • support in aerodynamic design of aircrafts and its components and systems,
  • internal, commercial and EU projects,
  • intense collaboration with the rest of the departments.

What do we expect from the candidate?

  • BSc or MSc degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or other technical discipline,
  • a lot of experience in CFD simulations (preferably in Numeca CFD environment),
  • good understanding of aerodynamics,
  • basic understanding of aeroacoustics and thermodynamics,
  • experience in 3D engineering design tools,
  • experience in Python programming language,
  • excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills, precise and patient character,
  • proactive and able to work with a minimum of supervision,
  • strong ability to think out of the box,
  • hands-on attitude,
  • fluent English language skills.
