For the company Pipistrel Vertical Solutions d.o.o. we are looking for aerodynamics engineer to join the Pipistrel team. As an aerodynamics engineer in flight physics and simulations department you will be involved in support in design, analysis, and optimization of aerodynamic components, maintaining and developing new in-house developed code and algorithms, preparation of documentation, and you will collaborate with the rest of the departments. Daily tasks will include:

  • support in design, analysis, and optimization of aerodynamic components: wings, empennages, fuselages, propellers, cowlings, etc.,
  • support in conceptual aerodynamic design of new aircrafts,
  • maintaining and developing new in-house developed code and algorithms for aerodynamic design, analysis, and optimization,
  • many different types of aircraft (electric, hydrogen and internal combustion engine powered; prototypes and serial production; fixed wing aircrafts and VTOLs),
  • internal, commercial and EU projects,
  • preparation of documentation (simulation results, calculation procedures, testing, reports, software documentation, project deliverables, etc.,),
  • intense collaboration with the rest of the departments.

What do we expect from the candidate?

  • MSc degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or other technical discipline,
  • good understanding of aerodynamics and aircraft design,
  • experience with low/mid fidelity aerodynamic analysis and aircraft design tools,
  • experience with 3D engineering design tools,
  • extensive experience with Python programming language,
  • excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills, precise and patient character,
  • proactive and able to work with a minimum of supervision,
  • strong ability to think out of the box,
  • hands-on attitude,
  • fluent English language skills.
